CarryMate ("we", "us", or "our") operates the CarryMate mobile application (the "App"), a peer-to-peer platform that connects travelers with people who want to send items. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Account & Profile Information
- Name and email address (used to create and secure your account)

- Any biographical details you choose to add to your profile
Identity Verification (Passport / ID)
To build trust between travelers and senders, CarryMate offers identity verification. When you choose to verify, you may upload an image of your passport or government-issued ID.
Trip, Shipment & Marketplace Data
- Trip details you post (route, dates, available capacity)
- Shipment requests and offers you create or respond to
- Delivery confirmations and reviews you submit
Messages
- Chat messages exchanged with other users to coordinate deliveries
- Reports and blocks you submit regarding other users
Device & Technical Information
- Push notification tokens (to deliver message and status alerts)
- Basic device and app-version information for troubleshooting
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create, operate, and secure your account
- To match travelers with senders and enable deliveries
- To power in-app chat, notifications, reviews, and reputation
- To verify identity where you have opted in
- To keep the community safe (moderation, handling reports and blocks, enforcing our policies)

3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as follows:
- With other users: your public profile (display name, photo, verification status, reviews) and the trip/shipment details you post are visible to other users so deliveries can happen. Your email, phone number, and identity documents are never shared with other users.
- Service providers: we use Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and real-time messaging infrastructure. Data is processed on their secure servers on our behalf.
- Legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users or the public.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure protected by industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and row-level access controls that restrict data to authorized users. Identity documents are held in access-restricted storage separate from public profile data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
5. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, including any uploaded identity documents, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
6. Your Rights
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: update inaccurate profile information directly in the App
- Deletion: delete your account and associated personal data
- Withdraw consent: remove an uploaded identity document at any time

7. Children's Privacy
CarryMate is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure your data remains protected in accordance with this policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
